Our Process

How We Work

From the first phone call to the final sign-off — here is exactly how a roofing project runs with us. No surprises, no hidden steps.

Our process: call or book a callback, free on-site survey within 2-3 days, written itemised quote, scheduled start date we stick to, the work by our own team, daily updates on multi-day jobs, cleanup, sign-off with photographs and 10-year guarantee documentation. No deposit on repairs under £500. Call 0203 302 2547.

Step 1 — You Call or Book a Callback

Call 0203 302 2547 or use the callback form on any page. A real person answers — not a call centre, not a recorded message. We ask what the problem is, where the property is, and when works for you. For emergencies we dispatch the same day. For standard work we book a survey within 2-3 working days.

Step 2 — Free On-Site Survey

We come to your property, inspect the roof from ladder, scaffold or drone level, and photograph everything we find. On West London properties this means checking the specific failure modes of your housing era — butterfly valleys on Fulham Victorian terraces, concrete tile nail sickness on Kenton 1930s semis, lead flashing fatigue on Chiswick period properties, flat roof membrane condition on Hayes extensions. We check what a general builder would miss because we see these roofs every day.

Step 3 — Written Itemised Quote

You receive a written quote breaking down every cost: materials (named manufacturer and specification), labour, scaffold (if needed — always itemised, never hidden), waste disposal, and VAT. You can see exactly what you are paying for and compare meaningfully with any other quote. The quote is valid for 30 days, no-obligation, and includes the full scope of work.

Step 4 — Scheduling

Once you accept the quote, we book a start date and stick to it. If scaffold is needed, we arrange delivery 1-2 days before the work starts. If a council pavement permit is required — common on terraced streets in Fulham, Kilburn, Shepherd's Bush and Hammersmith — we submit the application and factor the lead time into your schedule. You know the start date, the expected duration, and who will be on site.

Step 5 — The Work

Our own team carries out every job. We do not subcontract to whoever is available that week. The team who surveyed your roof is the team who fixes it. On multi-day projects (re-roofs, major repairs) we update you daily — what was done, what is next, any findings that affect the scope. If we find something unexpected (hidden timber rot is the most common discovery), we photograph it and discuss options before proceeding.

Step 6 — Cleanup and Sign-Off

We clear all waste, sweep the site, remove scaffold, and leave your property as we found it — minus the roof problem. You receive a completion pack: photographs of the completed work from all angles, your written 10-year guarantee document, and maintenance guidance specific to the materials installed. The guarantee is transferable if you sell the property.

Step 7 — Aftercare

If anything covered by the guarantee develops a fault, call us. We come back and fix it — no quibbling, no re-charge, no excess. We also recommend annual gutter maintenance and offer a reminder service so your roof stays in the condition we left it in.

NFRC consumer guidance recommends choosing a contractor who provides a written, itemised quote before work starts, carries public liability insurance of at least £2m, and provides a written guarantee on completion. Our process meets all three requirements as standard.
